One of our favorite short-travel shredders goes full metal with the all-new Ripley AF. That means all the pop and play of the carbon Ripley, but with a durable aluminum frame that's built to get rowdy, and a price that leaves you plenty of cash for epic trips to all of your bucket list riding destinations. Despite the friendly price tag, the Ripley AF is in no way a cheap bike. In fact, you'll enjoy all the same refinements as the carbon Ripley, like the lively and efficient DW-Link suspension, a creak-free threaded bottom bracket, low standover to accommodate long dropper posts, and clearance for up to 2. 6in tires. The Ripley AF also gets slightly more aggressive with the geometry, slackening the head tube a full 1-degree over the carbon Ripley to give you some extra stability when you're going full-gas in the rough stuff. Lucky for us, all Ripley AF's come with Fox Performance suspension, sturdy Ibis wheels, and trustworthy brake and drivetrain components. This particular NGX build features a mix of NX and GX Eagle components, with arguably the most important ones (cassette and derailleur) being GX. This gives you similar performance to a full GX build, but saves you hundreds of dollars along the way. SRAM G2 brakes provide generous stopping power and a smooth braking feel, while the Maxxis Aggressor tires give you a boost of traction on a wide range of surfaces from hardpack to pebbles to silt.
