We love a good full suspension bike, but when it comes to cross-country and marathon racing, a lightweight hardtail can often be a faster choice, allowing you to transfer more of your energy into forward momentum instead of losing it to the unwanted movement of the rear suspension. That's why we're happy to carry Pivot's new LES SL, which happens to be one of the lightest race bikes we've ever thrown a leg over. With a size medium frame weighing in at only 2. 3lb, it's well over half a pound lighter than its predecessor. That doesn't mean this bike flexes like a wet noodle under power though, because Pivot's expertise in carbon fiber allows them to craft a frame with a high stiffness to weight ratio, all while maintaining the legendary ride quality that Pivot is known for. This allows you to save energy over the long haul while providing planted and predictable handling across any trail surface. You'll also appreciate Pivot's innovative Cable Port System, which works flawlessly with any drivetrain, including electronic systems like Di2, and also makes it easy to run a dropper post if desired. The LES SL retains the same progressive XC geometry as its predecessor, characteriz...
