Yeti's SB100 Carbon C2 GX/X01 Eagle Mountain Bike gets it. While some might look at its modern XC geometry and set it aside for race days alone, we'd argue that it's more of a "downcountry" steed, built to rocket through the masses and push towards the podium on the climbs, and put in some serious distance between you and second place on ripping descents. It's built with swift, steep geometry that charges up technical climbs with vigor, while Switch Infinity's suspension prowess allows it to perform like a trail bike when you point it downhill, offering you more confidence than your average 4-inch travel ride can muster up. Yeti packs in this particular build with a perfect blend of pocket-friendly and performance-oriented components, putting your money where it matters most, like a snappy SRAM X01 Derailleur and DT Swiss hoops, and balancing it with the workhorse GX Eagle components to keep your wallet happy. We typically think of cross-country bikes as one trick ponies that barely trouble the scale, which makes going uphill less of a chore. But when pointed downhill, the borderline anorexic builds can be slightly unnerving and even the most confident riders are faced with a good test of faith when pushed through the paces saddled up on a feathery whip on technical descents.
